To obtain an internship in a North American company demands an understanding of the English language that allows the proper functions of the job to be fulfilled and never interrupt the rhythm of the organization. The companies that offer internships have usually had some previous experience and as a result they are conscious that a period of adaptation exists.
The internship will allow you to develop the linguistic base that you possess right now in a way that in only a few weeks you will experience a considerable improvement in the use of new vocabulary and new grammatical and colloquial expressions.
For the use of students, CIEE has created Programa de Intercambios, which has an objective of forming and supporting the cultural integration between American students and Spanish students, something that could have a very positive result for you due to the large difference between British English and American English. In order to participate, you should fill out an application, through which we will call you and tell you the date, time, and place of the reunion between the two groups of students. In fall we had almost 300 American students, and right now we have more than 400 making it a very easy program to participate in.
